... on his fully modded Benchmark DAC1
"Hi James, managed to have a short listening last night. The DAC is sounding great. I can briefly describe the sound as follows:
- Wider and soundstage
- Better separation, depth and definition
- Smoother, cleaner mid and highs and not so hard
- Bass definition and control is very good
- Overall extension throughout the audio spectrum with airiness.
As you say, after the run in of the DAC, it should be sounding even better. I hope to convince more of my friends and have their DAC upgraded.

"The soundstage is more defined and there is more detail. After playing for about 20 hours, the sound is getting warmer and more interactive. Originally, I have the intention to upgrade to Esong but I am glad to have decided on the modding. It saved me some money and the improvement is well worth it.
Thanks James, for a speedy and good job."

... on his Ultima clock installed Consonance CD120
" Hi, the previous reclocking mod on my opera consonance CD120-10 with ultima clock was very effective and the improvement was huge especially on the lower bass and midrange with better separation, control, and more 3D soundstage. For the higher frequency the improvement was more airy but the higher register was limited by simple analogue stage using OPA627 op-amp as filter and buffered by 6H30 tube. The clock also added more texture and body. Yes, I can conclude that this is the most cost effective mod that I have done so far. I also can see why this mod is so effective cause the CD120-10 uses the ultima clock for the both DAC and transport. Last but not least I would like to thank you for this mod. "

" I have to say before i sent my CD7300 for the mod, the player was good in vocals but it sounded a bit too romantic / lazy. It was a vast improvement after the EA Ultimate Clock was installed. The first thought was that every single song/music was going back to the rhythm it was supposed to be and will not be fatigued after listening to many albums. There was also lower noise floor, much less distortion and deeper sound tones for vocals and instruments.
After full modification with the EA power supply, regulators and cap changes, I must say that the sound is a few times more gorgeous than how it looks now - it is totally transformed. I started to know that strings can sound so subtile, light and tight; vocals can be so real and natural and some of my cds are actually of such good quality. There is also almost zero noise floor - like an air cooler has been added to the sound, making it so transparent and airy. The soundstage does not shrink as much at lower volumes, making it possible for me to enjoy at low volumes late into the night. This is only the third day after the mod and hopefully I can explore more after running in. Good job! Cheers! "

... on his modded Denon S10
" After modding the Cambridge, the clarifyt and transparency has improved a lot. Sometimes, the clarity is "bone-chilling" good. Somehow, I feel that the sound is more natural as I use the CDP. For instance, when I played a Cai Qin track, instead of hearing along drawn out note, I can hear the ups and downs of her voice like "dou3 yin1". Also the sound appears "bigger" than before."

" I am very satisified with the Mod. It performs suberbly. Incision, seperation, Dynamics, realism, fowared but not affressive, strog presence, precise definition, good bass response. I realised the orginal S10 is rather sluggish. "
