L1 Mod + L2 Mod +
Clock Installation
This player has a very good basis for
modding. The SACD decoder
is the Philips Furore2 IC (which is used in Philips 963sa).
The front L/R DAC is the PCM1738—Which is one of the best
voltage-out DACs around. Customer
wants to improve further with an out-board power supply.
No problem J
Total damage : S$11xx

Overview of the player after the mod.
Note the out-board power supply box for the Analog Output stage
and the DAC power supply—the critical supplies for the audio
reproduction. They are
connected together via a custom cord.

The front channel opamp
is change to AD8066, with bias to Class A for warm sounding, which is
customer’s preference.

As usual my EAM clock is used to replace
the cheap original oscillator circuit.
SMD parts? No problem
with me :)

mod. Note the EAM dedicated
power supply to the left and the clock to the right.
Also the critical caps are up-graded too.
A pair of high-grade RCA are installed and wired with silver
wire.
