Denon A11 Flagship Multistandard DVD player

L1 Mod + L2 Mod + Clock Installation

Customer Mr Woon wants to further improve the video and audio (both digital output and analog output) performance.  This player being the flagship of the Denon fleet, he was initially skeptical on whether any upgrades can be done to further improve it.  After discussion with him, the proposal is to install my Effective Audio Ultimate Clock Module package to improve the video/audio digital and analog output and a level 1 mod on the front left/right output.  Total Cost S$6xx.  His comments after the mod:

"The A11 is doing well.....just watched Empire Strikes Back, and found that the picture is smoother and less grainy. Overall, I'm quite pleased with the modifications."

Another Customer Mr Lim wants to extremely mod his A11.  He is deciding between the modded A11 and a Marantz SA17.  After discussion, the decision is to go for a full mod.  The total Cost is S$9xx.  His comments after the mod :

"The improvement in the audio quality on the A11 after the mod is impressive. There are much dynamic and richness in the audio reproduction of the player. The level of sonic details is manifested as pleasant sounding bass and treble, robust, well controlled with no sign of harshness. Vocal singers sound alive with an exuberance of emotion when played through the system. I am able to detect subtle vocal inflections which have not been so apparent before. My verdict is that the A11 after the mod definitely sounds better than the un-mod Marantz SA17."

Mod shown below is Mr Lim’s Extremely Modded A11.

The is the internal overview of the modded player.  Note the Effective Audio Clock Module and dedicated power supply to the left.  A separate low noise Toroidal  transformer is also installed for the analog audio circuits.  The original power supply board is further upgraded with better caps and film bypassing.

This is my Effective Audio Clock Module installed onto the motherboard of the A11

This is another view in the installed clock. With the Clock Dedicated Power Supply to the left.

This is a picture of the modded analog board.  A total of 6 SMD opamps changed, plus critical caps.  Capacitors/Diodes in the DAC IC and main power supply is changed too but not shown.
