Testimonials
Thank
you for modding the 3910. I have been using it for over a month now and
feel ready to share some feedback.
First
off, I am extremely happy with the audio mods. I don't know the stock
sound since I didn't try it out, but certainly it sounds absolutely superb
now that it has been run in.
On redbook, I actually prefer it
to my Sony XA777ES, even though the latter is a dedicated CD/SACD player.
I found better dynamics, tighter bass and overall smoothness. So much so
that I feel like selling my Sony!
I still prefer the Sony's SACD
performance over the Denon, but the difference is very minute. I can live
with it. Don't know much about DVD-Audio, but from what I can recall, it
sounded at least on par with my previous DVD-Audio player, the Toshiba
9200.
I would definitely recommend
your mods to anyone that would want to upgrade their players. I suspect
the magic is in the linear power supply. I've always believe in the
benefits of power (more so than fancy cables) which is why I use
powerplants for my system.
Mr Gerald Ho,
on his DVD3910 with General Mod + Linear Power Supply.
Can be much
more improved with a EA clock installation!!

As a former
engineer/designer I really admire Denon with this player.
Bomb proof basic construction and parts used.
It actually uses the same motherboard and DVD drive as its previous
flagship, the Denon A11. In
fact, what is lacking to save cost is the (very important!!) linear power
supply that drives A11’s video and audio stage.
No problem
I can install them back on to be better than the stock A11 !!!
A little bit on this player’s spec.
DVD/SACD/DVD-A/CD player (Really good basic chipset).
With digital video (HDMI and DVI) outputs, as well as IEEE1394 for
DVD-A/SACD encrypted digital audio output.
Worth every penny.

- Installed Toroidal transformer.
Hand solder 2 low noise regulated power supply, 1 for
output stage and 1 for DAC supply.
This essentially makes the player as the same
architecture as flagship DVD players like Denon A11, Denon 5910
and Yamaha DVP2400 for audio.
Another set
can be installed for video at the same price.
